It's a week later now... I give it two more days for Justthefax to post a bluff for the correct word (he bluffed for Chapparal), and then I will post the definitions

Can you tell me the rules for voting? Vote for your own, vote not for your own, what? I think there was some discussion on this the last round and I lost track of the answer.

Vote for whatever you like and try to get others to vote for your choice, but you don't get a point if you vote for yourself. You do, though, get 2 points if you're the dasher and no one picks the right word.

Well, just the fax has not send any definition for the word Rakija, so,
without further ado, here are the bluffs and the real definition.

RAKIJA

1. A central-European colloquialism for a fat, hairy lady's gorilla salad.
2. An Algerian shawl made of fine cashmere and Egyptian cotton.
3. Indian dance routine involving precise foot placement.
4. A strong liquor made by distillation of fermenting fruits and popular
throughout the Balkans.
5. A stewpot commonly used in Northern Pakistan.
6. One of the incarnations of Visjnoe, as the cowherder.
7. the soft underside of an elephant's foot.
8. a Japanese method of firing teaware, especially for use in the tea ceremony
9. An Indian style of music played with a nakir and a pomja very popular in the early 19th century.

Take your pick and have fun Smile

I still miss a couple of bluffs. Steve41oo and Mame to be precise.
I'll try to PM them so they can take their pick as well. Smile

1. A central-European colloquialism for a fat, hairy lady's gorilla salad.
Spendius' salad did not look very appetising to our bluffers, I blame it on the hairy lady. Nevertheless, I give it a 10 out of 10 for originality. Smile
2. An Algerian shawl made of fine cashmere and Egyptian cotton.
Mame's shawl was not alluring enough either. A shame!
3. Indian dance routine involving precise foot placement.
Both equus and Clary were enticed by Steve's indian dance routine.
4. A strong liquor made by distillation of fermenting fruits and popular
throughout the Balkans.
Jespah and Spendius went for the liquor, and they can drink it in celebration for picking the correct answer.
5. A stewpot commonly used in Northern Pakistan.
Mame's recipe for a North Pakistanese stewpot could not charm anyone either.
6. One of the incarnations of Visjnoe, as the cowherder.
And here I figured one of Visjnoe's avatar's would be exotic enough, but no one was fooled by me.
7. the soft underside of an elephant's foot.
Jespah, whose knowledge of elephants is undoubtedly second to none, did not manage to convince anybody to vote for the elephants paws.
8. a Japanese method of firing teaware, especially for use in the tea ceremony
No one wanted to share a cup made by Clary's teaware firing method.
9. An Indian style of music played with a nakir and a pomja very popular in the early 19th century.
Mame's last bluff enticed no one but... Mame. Smile

I have no idea how to figure out the proper scores, since we have three bluffs from one bluffer (who voted for her own bluff) and we have a vote by a non bluffer (equus) so I propose we forego scoring Smile

Regards.

I think we've lost count on scoring long ago. Don't know how I missed bluffing this time.

But we should have just one official bluff per person. And people can play without bluffing if they don't want to.

Boy, I can't believe this took so long to load. Well, I can, actually. I tried for 24 hours to get on and give my answer (it wasn't initially #9 but that's all I could remember when I did finally get to log in - sure, sure!).

Is anyone else having the same Critical Error message I keep getting? Is it just my home system or is this site having problems?

Well- I reckon I won. Easy.

10 out of 10 for originality and getting the correct answer as well.

But as the last effort I masterminded turned out a right mess I delegate my power to er..er..er Jespah.

I must admit though that I once took a wee drop of a hill-people liquor in some dump east of the Irish Sea to which the authorities had transported me for reasons best known to themselves and I was told by a toothless grinning git in bollocks flattering pants (they go for in for tailored assertions even up the Khyber Pass) was called a word which namjie's word reminded me of. Arik or Yackick or something. It produced a sharp burning sensation in my oesophagus after which a maudling yearning for England and its beautiful Roses set in. I told him what a silly t**t he was and he grinned all the more.

Is that cheating?
