Ooh... I have already participated once, and have been keeping an eye open for a new balderdash word.
I have allready pm'd my bluff in. Hope that wasn't too forward?
Otherwise, just blame it on my bad, drug induced, Dutch attitude. Razz

Have received bluff from naj.

I shouldn't have mentioned hospital. I had a nasty skin infection a couple of weeks ago and had a section of skin on my back removed. Was off the internet for about 10 days. Healing nicely now.

Not many bluffs, but it's time to play.

1. The reason slaves attempt to escape from their masters.
2. An impulsive need to dress up in order to be noticed and stand out. This 'disease' is often mistaken for being 'drag' when males suffer from it.
3. An obsession with buying large quantities of clothing, regardless of actual need.
4. The love of fruit pits.
5. The urge to look through cracks in curtains, both yours and other peoples.
6. A mental disorder in which evacuation of the bowels and bladder happens spontaneously and without warning.

C'mon! We need more than 3 guesses. New people? What is DRAPETOMANIA? (A form of Ptomaine from ingesting toile fabric???)

3. An obsession with buying large quantities of clothing, regardless of actual need. (Bluff by Jespah)
4. The love of fruit pits. (Bluff by Equus. Chosen by Clary, Najmelliw)
5. The urge to look through cracks in curtains, both yours and other peoples. (Bluff by Rod3, no takers)
6. A mental disorder in which evacuation of the bowels and bladder happens spontaneously and without warning. (Bluff by Clary, no takers)

I came across this word in a book I was reading- Southern slave owners couldn't understand why some slaves kept trying to escape when they were provided with food, clothing and shelter- everything they could possibly (apparently to the owners) want. A prominent doctor came up with the theory that it was a mental disorder, which he called drapetomania. He prescribed whipping and, in severe cases, partial foot amputation, to "alleviate" the disorder. Barbaric.
