SOS, Justthefax, Jespah and George, can you pm your bloughs to me again??? They went into my junkmail folder by mistake, then were noiselessly eliminated while I wasn't looking by hotmail's efficient sweep.

And any more PRUCK definitions out there?

You should have received a prucking definition from me, unless I was junkmail too? I'll send again.

Well, to prevent this game rotting in the ditch, here is the selection for PRUCK:
1 the involuntary puckering of lips after drinking something sour.
2 a rubber stopper attached to a chain.
3 that nasty Tom down the road. He always confuses PR with F, hah, hah.
4 items that are bought to look nice but which are useless, such as garden ornaments and seaside souvenirs.
5 a seafood stew with clams, bacon and seaweed cooked in a chicken stock.
6 the clip that attaches a bayonet to a rifle
7 a snack or light lunch
8 a baby buggy designed to look like a truck.

I like #4. That's a definition deserving of a word like "pruck".

I kind of like the 'rotting in a ditch' thing for the definition of PRUCK. Hmm. Not an option.

I'll go with #4.

#6 sounds right because I would guess that the sound made by the connection would be "pruck."

Hee, hee, justthefax.

Is it too late for Felix to withdraw his vote? He certainly wouldn't want to tip the balance in the animal voting district.

Don't worry. He doesn't need to vote, just thought he might like to. I'll post the conclusion tomorrow.

Small but very select number of players this time Cool
Just to remind you of the definitions/bluffs
1 the involuntary puckering of lips after drinking something sour.
2 a rubber stopper attached to a chain.
3 that nasty Tom down the road. He always confuses PR with F, hah, hah.
4 items that are bought to look nice but which are useless, such as garden ornaments and seaside souvenirs
5 a seafood stew with clams, bacon and seaweed cooked in a chicken stock.
6 the clip that attaches a bayonet to a rifle
7 a snack or light lunch
8 a baby buggy designed to look like a truck.

ANSWERS
1 Diane's turned out to be a lemon
2 Jespah's was a complete show-stopper - it stopped equus in his tracks but he's going to bounce back.
3 Felix's date was a non-starter for justthefax, who actually had 3 points for sending the correct definition so shouldn't really have been votingÂ… but I think Felix deserves the point.
4 true definition - amongst the miscellaneous junk accumulated by littlek and george
5 Clary cooked up that one but nobody swallowed it
6 Equus -there was a catch in it somewhere and jespah and diane found it.
7 George served up this definition but there were no takers
8 littlek drove this one to the party but nobody climbed aboard

SCORES
justthefax 10 + 3 = 13 - automatically receives double score for NEXT round (or do we all start again? confused here)
littlek 2 + 3 = 5
george 9 + 3 = 12
diane 5
Clary 5
Jespah 4 + 1 = 5
Felix 4 + 1 = 5
Equus 9 + 2 = 11
(firstthought: 11
ehBeth: 6
dev: 5
hiama 3
PaL 3
rjb 2
Onyx 2
naj 2
cavfancier 2
taffy 2)

It's an extremely useful word and so far I've only found it in Northern Irish texts - must go and clear out some more pruck, this house was full of it until I had a word for it!
