Hmm. Going with #13 this time.
*I wouldn't mind dashing next round if you all don't mind. I think I have a good word. If there are no objections, could someone please pm me instructions as to dasher protocol?
bumping the thread up to the front of the line.
Trying to decide between 8 and 13...
...mentally flipping coin...
I'll guess 8.
hmmm.....
I'll guess #3
(I'm remembering the crew boats on the river by Boston/Cambridge!!)

P&L - that was a fun afternoon!
tap, tap, tap while waiting for the slackers.
On a regular basis I, now dog-less sadly, go through my property and then through Mr and Mrs Burton's and then onto the SPCA road and then down to the reservoir. It's 6 am and I am joined by some companions: Genesis, Rufus, Clyde and several other dogs whose names I don't know. Big dogs, little dogs, old dogs and young. Some really smart and others dumb as dumb can be. But all happy dogs.
There is a rock outcropping that I regularly sit on at 6 am while watching some of the dogs that have some semblance of water-retrieval in their "mutt-ness," readily jumping in to chase the stick I throw.
During the school year, once in a while, the UVA crew teams will row by. A bit surrealistic: incredibly quiet, deer grazing in the field on the other side and perhaps a bear on the bank. The early morning haze starting to get hit by the new day's sunlight and then I see this incredible rhythm:
stroke, stroke, stroke.
littlek, this gets the topic back to center-stage. Close it out. Nag, nag, nag. Thanks for your effort-johnboy
We still need responses from

Just 2 left....
Are RJB's point standings on page 75 ok with everyone? It always seems that there is some sort of debate on the standings......
Hitting reply without a clue.
Now to read back ^^^
hmmmmmmmmm, well, 11 sounds pretty. Seems like it should be 8 or 13, but 11 it is.
#3 was RJB's bluff and it nabbed P&L
#8 was devries' bluff which george, clary, 1st thought and hiama fell for
#11 was made up by clary - Jespah, RJB and Beth guessed it
#13 was the real answer which equus, taffy, cav and devries all guessed correctly
#14 was george's and fooled fealola
Drom knew the definition because of her love of shakespeare.
devriesj has 18 points! (9+2+3+4)
drom has 10 points (7+3)
clary has 8 points (2+3+3)
taffy has 8 points (6+2)
rjb has 7 points (6+1)
cav has 6 points (4+2)
ehbeth has 6 points (6+0)
equus has 6 points (4+2)
george has 4 (3+1)
littlek has 4 points (4+0)
firstthought has 3 points (3+0)
jespah has 3 points (3+0)
diane has 2 points (2+0)
felix has 2 points (2+0)
p&l has 2 points (2+0)
margo has 2 points (2+0)
tam sat out, has 1 point (1+0)
hiama (0)
fealola (0)
So, is this right?
Looks like we should start a new game from 0 - good job devries!
Littlek, I question the use of some of your commas.
Together Clary and Jespah made up #11, and RBJ and Beth fell for it?
Anyway, just being annoying.
LOL... SCoates.... are you an English teacher??
I'm laughing, because I recently sent an email to someone who created a website for IncrediMail stationery.....
she spelled the word "stationary", rather than "stationery"....
I kept the email very light and fun....
apologized for my boldness....
referred to myself as a wanna-be English teacher....
hmmm.... no reply to that email, thanking me for pointing out her spelling error..... LOL.... perhaps my observation was not appreciated....

Have you read Eats, Shoots and Leaves?
I take issue with the scoring on two counts:
Back on pg 75 I listed the scores in a format that looked pretty clear on my screen but may have appeared on yall's in a difficult to read scrambling.
For example, I said @ 4 (points) (were): cav (and then on the next two lines other players who also had 4 points): equus and littlek. The folks w/o an @ sign seem to have lost their previous points.
In addition, remember that clary and devriesj knew FUSTIAN so they each got 3 points there.
So, yes, this round is over and devriesj romps to a victory with 18 points with drom a distant second at 10 and the rest of us trailing badly or really badly.
Taffy amazes me: 8 points.
Well done, littlek. Thanks and I hope you will Dasher again! Was it devriesj who offered to go next?
Pardon me, but can I join perhaps? This sounds like a fun game. I've been following this thread a couple of days now, since it seemed you were busy with a round of play. I even think I got the rules, although the scoring still eludes me.
BTW. I'm not English, but Dutch (so the very first word in this thread (KAKKERLAK) was amazingly simple, but the other words were more or less a mistery to me, so I doubt whether I'll score high. But they say it's all about the fun anyways, right?
Naj.
