Uh oh, the Brits might have a vocabulary advantage and firstthought and RJB might be tippling and arguing about sex--good grief--this game is getting racy and might be slanted in favor of the Brits. Oy.

Well, folks, clary definitely had all the versions of the definition under her belt and Devriesj had one of them. So, the round is off and the each get 3 points.

Shall I drudge for a new word, or does someone else want to take a stab?

Oh, yeah:

Fustian \Fus"tian\, n. [OE. fustan, fustian, OF. fustaine, F. futaine, It. fustagno, fr. LL. fustaneum, fustanum; cf. Pr. fustani, Sp. fustan. So called from Fust[=a]t, i. e., Cairo, where it was made.]

2. An inflated style of writing; a kind of writing in which high-sounding words are used,' above the dignity of the thoughts or subject; bombast.

Claudius . . . has run his description into the most
wretched fustian. --Addison.

Fustian \Fus"tian\, a.

1. Made of fustian.

2. Pompous; ridiculously tumid; inflated; bombastic; as, fustian history.

"........He, who still wanting, though he lives on theft,
Steals much, spends little, yet has nothing left:
And he, who now to sense, now nonsense leaning,
Means not, but blunders round about a meaning:
And he, whose fustian's so sublimely bad,
It is not poetry, but prose run mad: ....."

Dangit - I dunno who to expect for this round. We have the core group (we've lost some of those), we have the recent newcomers and we have the newest-comers. By one count we should have around 22 players.

I have 11 bluffs right now:

Beth
Equus
George
Jespah
HIAMA
devriesj
Clary
Drom
P&L
1st hought
Taffy

Who all do I send threatening pms to? Everyone who's recently played?

PRINCOX, huh? I'll try to come up with something this evening..
littlek, this is the toughest part of the job of being dasher: getting bluffs.
One needs to go back to recent players and beg, threaten, coddle, cajole or whatever.
You're doing well, littlek, and I hope that the slackers who haven't bluffed will do so tonight so you can do other things.
(That's the "guilt trip" rap; usually good for a getting a couple of people motivated) -rjb-
