@Lustig Andrei,
Jesus Christ . . . you just like to argue, huh?

The full text of the poem Marmion, by Walter Scott. Go read if for yourself, then you can claim to have made a liar out of me.

@Setanta,
Who the hell's arguing? That was an honest question. I couldn't recall off the top of my head who wrote those lines and figured you'd know since you quoted them.

As you can see, i attributed Scott at the outset. You should be able to see why it appeared that you just wanted to argue.

@Setanta,
You're the only one here who's arguing. I just want to change the subject.

I have enjoyed argument; better than watching ball games.

Suit yourself--you're ignoring that Foofie answered a question directed at Miller, then said she knew how Miller thinks. Then she said she didn't know who Miller is (although just having said she knows how Miller thinks), but knew she was female. Then suddenly she knew that Miller lives in the Boston area, and works in the health care field. Then she suddenly knew that Miller is Jewish, and knew the precise Jewish ethnic group to which she belongs--all after having said she didn't now who Miller is. It's tough keeping up a tissue of lies, it's so easy to get tripped up. As Walter Scott put it, "O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive."

In Jungian terms, one might say it is the "collective Jewish unconscious." All Jews are connected by an invisible neuron. The only people that can understand Jews are urban Italian-Americans, in my (Jewish) opinion.

The only difference between Miller's style and Foofie's is that Miller uses Foofie to say that outrageous, bigoted things she doesn't wish to have associated with her name here.

Plus Foofie was an E-4 in the military. Miller was not in the military, I believe.

@Lustig Andrei,
I don't go for it either but we all have to believe what we have to believe.

Or is it we have to guess what we have to guess?

Nope.

That just scans wrong.

@ehBeth,
I don't either and at the time I kept mulling it over, since, maybe..

but even in this thread IRFrank answered for Bear (I think it was IRF, not looking back), and that happens that we do that sometimes. I probably have too, but my contributions tend to be idiosyncratic and I'd be caught out right away if I were posing as another person. Or dog, as the case may be.

Holy cucaracha, Foof...I thought I was the only one who realized that!

I used to express that sentiment in a variation of, "Italian Americans are the only people who truly understand American Jews."

Yes. Also being under appreciated for what they gave the world. However, Italians have been giving the world (aka, civilization) culture, science, language, etc., for a much longer time. Jews might be able to take credit for a nice story about creation. And, then a long hiatus until the 20th century. Regardless, in middle America they tend to be friendly like lost pilgrims meeting, in my opinion. Also, opera cannot be compared to the music played on a banjo and fiddle.

@Foofie,
Yes, I am reminded of the Italian-American woman who at a party for her grandson explained to all of us at our table that the Jews should be put up against a wall and machine-gunned.

Immediately afterwards, her nephew turned to me and said "Do you believe she's 60?"

It made about as much sense as blather about a psychic connection between Jews and Italians.
