What is the difference between ""a huge amount of work" need to be done" and ""a huge amount of work" needs to be done"?
Context:
Noting various risks and challenges ahead, Xi admitted that "a huge amount of work" need to be done in order to ensure a better life for the people.
@oristarA,
"a huge amount of work" is singular, so
needs is correct.
"a large number of tasks
need to done."
