My perception is that what Frank perceives, he thinks it is reality.

I have on several occasions said that everything we see and sense...MAY BE AN ILLUSION.

Take my word for it, Timur...I DO NOT KNOW WHAT the true nature of the REALITY of existence IS.

There is absolutely no way I think that what I perceive IS the REALITY...but I do not dismiss the possibility the way some some people do.

I do not know...and I am unwilling to dismiss any possibility.

I think Frank has made it pretty clear that reality is separate from his perceptions.

He is just claiming that reality "is". Reality exists outside of us and outside of our perceptions.

If so, how can you tell?

Simple deduction?

I have tried to make it very clear that I do not know what the REALITY is...so, I disagree slightly with what you said here, Parados. REALITY MAY BE very, very different from what we humans perceive it to be...but it MAY BE exactly what we see. The non-dualists may be correct; the naive realists may be correct. I do not know...and I suspect neither does anyone else.



It is my position that whatever IS...IS.

I acknowledge that I do not know what that IS...is.




REALITY may exist outside of my perception...but in any case, whatever IS...IS. There is no way I can tell if everything I suppose I see and sense...is not just an illusion...something going on in what I refer to as "my mind."

Actually, if reality didn't exist outside of my perception it would seem to lead to a paradox that would cause my perceptions to not be reality.
