@blueveinedthrobber,

I wish I was surprised. My husbands Aunt is 95 and has become increasingly aggressive concerning race. Hopefully as these folks age out, their prejudices will go with them.

Robertson has spouted a line that segregationists would use all the time. I never dreamed anyone would be stupid enough to spout it today.

He makes me want to puke. I suspect he's lying.

I think he is saying behind the rhetoric their is intelligence. But I think he has mistaken intelligence for racism.

History is dotted with soulless, nasty, evil people who displayed an abundance of intelligence. Some of that history is being created today right before our very eyes. So it has always been and always will be.

No one has a legal duty nor a moral duty to agree with your opinion.
He has as much right to HIS opinion, and to HIS memory of events
as u have to yours. He has as much right to express his opinion and to VOTE upon the basis of it,
as u have for yours. NO ONE has any duty to agree with liberals. I fight against liberalism as well
as I can (consistent with my innate laziness).

It was widely published in the press, Bill,
during the OJ trial, that its predominantly black jury
self-segregated spontaneously every day at lunch.

first off the comment has nothing to do with dietary habits. Secondly you use the "It's okay if I eat a bowl of **** , because he did too" argument. I thought you were too bright for that

Do blacks and whites REALLY mix in America?
From what i see on TV, they keep themselves separate, for example there are blacks-only bars and whites-only bars, and although whites can go in black bars (and vice-versa), they rarely do because their cultures are so different.
And there are black "civil rights" groups and "Black Power" groups and stuff all over the place, which indicates that blacks DON'T WANT to integrate with whites.
Heck, even in schools, blacks and whites tend to form into their own groups.
This dialog from 'Mississippi Burning' spells it out-

Sheriff- "Simple fact is, Anderson, we got two cultures down here, white culture and a coloured culture. That's the way it always has been, that's the way it always will be"
Gene Hackman- "The rest of America don't see it that way."
Sheriff- "The rest of America don't mean jack ****, you in Mississippi now."
Hackman- "Oh, that's for sure!"

Steve, after all these years, I think that there is a decent chance
that u have gotten to (cyber) know me well enuf to know
that I do what I damn please, not follow examples that I reject.

Nonetheless, we can be cognizant of operative principles of psychology
in the real world; e.g., it has been a fact that "birds of a feather, flock together."

I live in the South and although there's still an underlying, unspoken racism, things have improved in the last 30 years. Many dance clubs are full of blacks and whites peaceably interacting.

Absolute rubbish.
Blacks just want to be treated with dignity and respect , as do gays, Latinos and other minorities.

All groups tend to coalesce into separate groups in schools; jocks and nerds are an example. From what I've seen, kids today are a lot more inclusive than in my day.
