Well, that is just your opinion, and it seems you like to call names, if someone says things you disagree upon,

what else is new?

@Quehoniaomath,

Theophile Gautier.

Pity the evolutionist with a puritan, Christian inheritance not to be shaken off.

@spendius,
Why don't we discuss a dance hall scientifically?

I bet our brave seekers after unvarnished truth are not up for that.

@Quehoniaomath,
You are the one making assumptions. I didn't say any of this applied to you. You asked a question and I asnswered it.

@spendius,
Sure you can Spendi...Game theory as applied to wooing economics. That's what John Nash was worked on.

Granted the dance itself lends itself to rules with the variations relatively random, but that can all be worked out. Think baseball.

@raprap,
I wouldn't start from there rap. Science would demand starting with the fundamental components. Which would be the same for a Satanic dance-hall as for a Christian one.

@JimmyJ,
I was responding to the general OP question... The nutty "assumption" exchange made it seem as though that Qu person had some proprietary interest in the thread. I see now. He does. It's just illegitimate.

Why do people deny evolution?

Because they hate to admit they are monkeys.

@Quehoniaomath,
That's only your rationalisation of it. In truth, you're afraid to be an animal.

People deny evolution for a lot of reasons, but ignorance is the least of them.

They deny it because

They want to be contrary
They value their membership in a group that requires that they do
They strongly value fundamentalist religious beliefs.
They like to think that they know what so many others don't (conspiracy theory)

The more interesting question is: Why does anyone who accepts evolution as a fact really care?

Usually , as in the case of the originator of this thread, they don't, they simply want to tout their superior intelligence to the perceived "troglodytes" who hold a different belief than them.

This shows up in a lot of discussion in this forum.

"Why don't the great unwashed, the vile conservatives, the sexually repressed, the morally bankrupt, the unfeeling racists et al, think like I do?"

"Clearly , I am among the elite. I get it. I don't really care why they don't, I just want to let you know that I do!"

And offcourse, again, a lot of AH's and alogical and irrational bla bla bla, but nowhere any talk about the lack of evidence for evolution.
People let's face it, this one is defending his religion too.

evolutiontheorist are a cult all by itself, just like relativist,

definitely those people don't think or refuse to think.

the only think they can do properly is repeating the same Dogma'

Now, repeat just like a robot after me:

"Evolution is true, Evolution is True, Evolution is True..."

There, here you have your (extremely irrelevant)A+, well done boy! Now jump on my lap!

Brrrr

That's what a politician would say in public whilst thinking "tube with hole at each end and a reproductive organ of one sort or another."

@Quehoniaomath,
The lack of evidence for evolution?

What are you taking about?

The evidence may not be absolute, but it is overwhelming.

Finding one or two disputable examples of it's certainty hardly equates to a "lack of evidence"

Just think money Q. Don't bother with anything else. Or avoiding work by the exercise of the vocalisation organs.

Evidence is neither here nor there.

@spendius,
well, it IS something more and has to do with power.

Evolution is being used, like all the rest, for manpulating society,

That's right. It is evidence that we, the common man, and our helpmeets, are not as intelligent as we like to think we are. And few things are as easy to manipulate humanely as a method created to foster such a ridiculous delusion. And science is perfect for the job because knowing what all those signs, squiggles, symbols and suchlike mean, and their relations to each other, and their technical names, is considered to require intelligence as a result of the desperation of those who can't deal with only being average rendering them being easy to manipulate, like putty except that putty is useful, to believe such an idiotic idea never mind entertain it for a moment.

Everybody passing all their exams is another trick. That is where the fatuous belief is generated in the first place from the previously chaotic, but natural, energy of innate narcissism and very often inherited although not biologically and thus might run unchecked by natural forces and produce a **** up in proportion to the size of the superstructure.

And it's very good business and this is a business economy so business knows best. The Church doesn't reward its dedicated customers in this life. Apart from the contracts and the jobs which often arise, as if by magic, from regular and satisfactory attendance once a week and an occasional contribution to the relief of the priest's thirst.
