20:10 If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.

Startting to look more and more like a SATANIC bible (well, it actually is!!)

Quote:
Deuteronomy 7:1-2 When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations . . . then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.

Quote:
20:10-17 When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. . . . This is how you are to treat all the cities that are at a distance from you and do not belong to the nations nearby.
However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the Lord your God has commanded you.

wow! It is even explicitly stated that it is HORROR!

Quote:
Ezekiel 20:25-26 I also gave them over to statutes that were not good and laws they could not live by; I let them become defiled through their gifts—the sacrifice of every firstborn—that I might fill them with horror so they would know that I am the LORD.

Context, eh?! wtf?!

@OldGrumpy,
Yes, under the Old Testament law, those ppl were to be put to death.

The old law is not applicable to us now. It was only Israel, not even her neighbours.
God was seeking a pure, holy nation👍

In heaven ppl who want to spit in their heavenly fathers face, or curse his name will be put to death. Ppl who practice immortality too. To create an eternal holy nation.
Yet again, you have demonstrated poorly researched material, extreme bias, and a real desire to simply bash. Not desire of truth:(

@OldGrumpy,
As for Deuteronomy 7:1....

Just as God judged a morally bankrupt civilization like the days of Nosh with s flood, he used Israel here to Judge the Canaanite ppl, who were practicing child sacrifice to say the least! (See how you leave out those details?)

If you would just google it, I would not have to waste my time here.
(Sorta, cause I’m glad to use you as leverage to demonstrate how ppl come to wrong conclusions and such)

Big diff between God who knows all judging, and you and I who know, well, nearly nothing compared to infinite knowledge.

Here is some 'justice'

Quote:
Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

Quote:
“If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives.” (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

Quote:
Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)

Quote:
If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)

Quote:
A priest’s daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)

Quote:
Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)

Quote:
And he smote of the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of Jehovah, he smote of the people seventy men, `and’ fifty thousand men; and the people mourned, because Jehovah had smitten the people with a great slaughter. And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before Jehovah, this holy God? and to whom shall he go up from us? (1Samuel 6:19-20 ASV)

and on and on and on the HORROR goes!

@OldGrumpy,
Deuteronomy 17:12Yep. Again, Old Testament law which only applied to the Nation of Israel.
In other words, put the rebellious to death. All the immoral things, and ppl practicing them must go.
Do u suppose rebellious ppl or angels can exist in a holy nation? Whether earthly or heavenly? No. Sadly, they will ultimately face death, and not be welcome in a peaceful society.

and just to expose the whole horror bible more:

Did you know, for example, that God:

Forced friends and family to kill each other for dancing naked around Aaron's golden calf?

Burned Aaron's sons to death for offering him strange fire?

Burned complainers to death, forced the survivors to eat quail until it literally came out their noses, sent "fiery serpents" to bite people for complaining about the lack of food and water, and killed 14,700 for complaining about his killings?

Buried alive those that opposed Moses (along with their families)?

Burned 250 men to death for burning incense?

Rewarded Phinehas for throwing a spear though the bellies of an mixed-faith couple while they were having sex?

Ordered, assisted in, or approved of dozens of complete genocides?

Accepted human sacrifice in the cases of Jephthah's daughter and Saul's seven sons?

Helped Samson murder thirty men for their clothes, slaughter 1000 with the jawbone of an ass, and kill 3000 civilians in a a suicide terrorist attack?

Smote the Philistines of several cities with hemorrhoids in their secret parts?

Killed a man for trying to keep the ark of the covenant from falling and 50,070 for looking into the ark?

Approved when David bought his first wife with 200 Philistine foreskins?

Killed King Saul for not killing every Amalekite as he told him to do?

Slowly killed a baby to punish King David for committing adultery?

Killed 70,000 because David had a census that he (or Satan) told him to do?

Sent a lion to kill a prophet for believing another prophet's lie, another lion to kill a man for not smiting a prophet, and some more lions to kill people that didn't fear him enough?

Killed 450 religious leaders who lost a prayer contest with Elijah and burned 102 men to death for asking Elijah to come down from his hill?

Sent two bears to rip apart 42 boys for making fun of Elisha's bald head?

Killed 27,000 Syrians by having a wall fall on them, sent an angel to kill 185,000 sleeping soldiers, interfered in human battles to kill a half million
Israelite and a million Ethiopian soldiers?

Killed King Ahab for not killing a captured king, and then sent King Jehu on a series of mass murders to kill all of Ahab's family and friends who had ever "pissed against a wall?"

Killed Jehoram by making his bowels fall out?

Killed Job's ten children in a bet with Satan?

Killed Ezekiel's wife and told him not to mourn her?

Killed Ananias and Sapphira for not giving Peter all their money?

Killed King Herod by feeding him to worms?

It really is KILL before and KILL after!

man o man.

@OldGrumpy,
Just google it.
Look up the reasons why those things took place. Not one is a legitimate argument. A bet with Satan? Really? Sigh.

My favs u listed were the King David census, and the Jobs children scenario, so commonly misunderstood and studied.

There will be more than 2.5 million rebellious ppl and angels on the final day of Judgemnt too sadly which will face ‘the second death.’ Yet justified right?
The bottom line, humans lives can be taken, if justified. (But don’t leave that part out like you have)

The wages of sin are death. People are free to sin and sin causes death and destruction. You can't attribute death and destruction to God or Satan. It is a natural culmination of sin begetting further sin.

Satan is the dark lord who revels in it, tempts people into it, etc. because Satan is the spirit of using pleasure and pain to control people with top-down authority and gain worship for the sake of his ego/pride competition with God.

God is the lord of love and mercy who is saddened by sin and hopes to see forgiveness, mercy, grace, and reform help people live more peacefully and constructively. He doesn't stop people from sinning and reaping the consequences, but He does provide foresight so people can make wiser choices and there is deliverance for people suffering.

It's really not about death. Death is what it is. It is about spiritual transcendence of death, and God is decisively the proponent of that, whereas Satan is the proponent of complete denial of spirituality in order to keep people's spirits totally trapped within the material attachments that cause them to fight and destroy mercilessly in desperate war of survival that they can never ultimately win.

@livinglava,
Here we go again--without any substantiation, you assert that there is a god, that there is a "Satan," that the cosmos is a creation. Bullsh*t, that's superstition.
