You did not ed. The raw truth of evolution is a bit too much for you I'm afraid. And it is probably a good thing that it is and you can just keep wittering about the raw truth of it as if it puts you in a class above most people without the botheration of explaining what the raw truth of evolution actually is.

@JimmyJ,
Quote:
Spendi is attempting to make the argument that it's "not nice for society" to believe in evolution.

And it most certainly is "not nice for society" to talk about it in any meaningful way. To think it is okay to do so signifies a lack of understanding of it or a lack of understanding of what a modern society is. Probably both.

The possible presence of ladies on this thread is what inhibits me from discussing evolution in a realistic manner. Evolution does not embrace the concept of ladies.

Too right ed!! But not for myself because I am past it. On behalf of your grandsons. It pains me to watch you silly fuckers have them walk the plank just in order to prove some fatuous point which you have got yourself hot under the collar about for some reason or other which it is not necessary to have a Ph.D. in Philosophy to appreciate.

@spendius,
One day. I hope to print this thread, along with others, to read over. So I can come up with good arguments I may lose.

No ladies=no reproduction

Evolution requires reproduction

You're wrong again, spendius.

It does not put me above anybody. It puts me on a par with other honest minds.

As the mythical Jesus is said to have uttered: "The truth shall set you free." That's why we need to give the honest truth to people, so they can make wise decisions. Not some huddle-in-the-dark pronouncements from the fearful. (Now, spendi, apropos of nothing) will call evolutionists sexual perverts. He follows a pattern.

I suppose we'll have to wait for an alien to land on earth and tell us a few things.
Oh wait, he's been and gone!-
Jesus said- "I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going....I am not of this world" (John 8:14/ 8:23)

But no sweat, he said-
"I'll be back" (Mark 13:26)..Smile

@anonymously99stwin,
We are speaking of science truth here, unlike spendius and a few others. Religious and philosophical truth is a different matter entirely.

So says Edgar with his Phd in Applied Physics.

Please.

And you called me arrogant.

But, ed, there are different ways of thinking about it and of applying it. There is give and take on those things. I don't think that applies to any other scientific law.

The word "evolution" might be used in as many meanings as there are people to use it. Although people using it to pin a medal to their own chest or to pursue a personal agenda seem pretty common.
translating the above....
Tiddle winks and diddle do and hows yer aunty mary. Would they love it to ... wouldn't you.
A large applaud would be appreciated. :-)
One needs pretty strong nerves, or a low intelligence, to think about evolution in the true light of all its horror-show ghastliness. It's nicely sanitised as just a word so that the young ladies in the teacher's training colleges might discuss it tastefully and with acceptable decorum.

I'm sorry, too, Edgar. Would you be so kind as to explain to my pea brain how evolution has been tested?

Do you know that edgar obatained a Phd?

I'm absolutely sure that edgar has not.

Maybe he ( and you) can disprove me.

By experimentation as any other scientific theory has been.

Again, Google scholar for yourself if you're still not convinced. However, I myself am convinced that you're perfectly content in being ignorant on the subject and have therefore ceased attempting to learn and grow intellectually.
