Should CNBC anchor Joe Kernen be fired for Racist comments on Indians

CNBC anchor Joe Kernen in his show Squawk Box racially attacked Indians and insulted Gandhi. As a Journalist he has broken all codes of ethics of Journalism. He doesn't deserve to continue in CNBC. For More details : Edit [Moderator]: Link removed

@hawkeye10,
He made a mockery of Gandhi in a live show, which is watched by millions around the world. It is as simple as that.

It is perfectly proper to make a mockery of Gandhi.

Long live free speech!

How many codes of ethics of Journalism
do you allege to have been "broken" ?

Please quote the applicable part
of each code of ethics of Journalism
which you allege to have been violated.

@OmSigDAVID,
if one doesn't follow the basics to be objective and not to hurt the sentiments of others then their is no point in following rest of the ethics.

@dileepp89,
Lord after looking at the video my reaction was big deal as in no big deal.

By the way how is this comment racial as are all Indians of one race or one religion or one anything other then being born and citizens of that nation?

A slight dig at the US citizens or Canadians or any other nation citizens would somehow be a racial insult?

Let see the comment during WW2 that the trouble with American soldiers in being in England was that they was over sex, over paid and over here is some racial insult?

It was racist in that Kernen made stereotypical comments about Indian-Americans on a talk show, "Squawk Box," for which he immediately apologized. It wasn't a news report.

Reprobation, not termination, is in order.

@InfraBlue,
When you used the term racism over such a minor matter you are down grading when real racist comments are issue.

This PC nonsense help no one.

@BillRM,
we moderns have a real problem with lack of resilience, the smallest of slights will now set us off and keep us from getting any work done.

our lack of ability to prioritize I have mentioned many times.

No one's civil rights were violated. And, let the market react. Meaning if there are enough people to be offended, and stop watching said program, then someone might be fired. However, if the market could care less, there is nothing that can be done, other than offended people getting a thicker skin, in my opinion.

And here you go, David. It violated the part about "the sentiments of others".

What constitutes "others"? Two people? A minority that doesn't appreciate any satire directed at them?

The market will still be the arbiter, since its all about sponsors and money, in my opinion.

@Foofie,
the culture police have about much interest in what the market wants as do the roving bands of Sharia police. this all got started when it became socially acceptable to shout down speakers who are speaking the " wrong" words.

There is nothing rong with insulting any race of your choice.
If the Jews wanted to insult the Germen
or the Poles wanted to insult the Russians,
or the Greeks wanted to insult the Turks
or the Chinese wanted to insult the Japs
there 'd be good reason for that resentment.

EVERYONE has a right to have an opinion
and EVERYONE has a right to express his opinion.
If the cheaters (meaning the liberals) get grossed out,
then: its all the better, in that liberals deserve to be punished.

Yes. Imagine that in the 1930s,
some American Jews objected to the anti-Jewish rhetoric in Germany
and that thay wrote articles against the said rhetoric.

Does that violate "codes of ethics of Journalism" of the 1930s
on the ground that the Germen are "others" who 'd dislike it
and that the Jewish dissent "hurt the sentiments of others" ??
