im not sure if she likes me

so ive liked this girl for so long but im not sure if she likes me. during the summer i would email her every week and we would talk about personal stuff. i would always start the conversations but she would always respond in a reasonably time frame. when i asked her if i bothered her she told me she wouldnt be responding if she was, and when i asked she gave me a lengthy description of her hobbies. later when i asked why doesnt she send me anything she says that emailing is the easiest way to talk. i assumed she wanted my number and i wanted hers but i didnt want to risk it. we started school a few days ago, after the first day i said hi and she hasnt responded since what now.
