@Gabrielle72,
This land is very large and well populated except when it isn't. Fascinating, brutto sometimes, and we argue all the time about it ourselves. Your swipe at americans (not the hemisphere situation) is just poky.

Meantime, what is the deal with you not teaching your children english grammar, at least in usage? do you rely on nursemaids? have you not explained to them colloquial, street, and college paper words?

@ossobuco,
Tell you what... Just forget the whole thing. It wasn't my intention to offend anyone, but obviously this is not the right place for this discussion.

@Gabrielle72,
This is certainly a good place for that. It was just a poor choice of words..

And your last post shows it again..

I'd say please pass a fruit loop but I get, sort of, the poster's views. Not that I share them, but I see how she got there.

So, excessive spelling and gramatical errors are "inexcusable" and "unforgivable" to the Dutch? Well there's something one can hang his hat on...

sorry: something on which one can hang his hat

@thack45,
I'm interested - have remodeled by self or selves something like seven times.
You could never bore me, so post on it if you feel like it. Well, never mind me, I'm not the only one. Tai Chi and husband venturing on this island in beyond, Manatoulin, if I spell that right. Major good thread to read.

And Rockhead deals with a lot of this.

Post if you feel like it, you have ready ears, including re the problem parts.

My friend from Würtemberg says that Dutch is just corrupted German, some kinda flat Dutch (he says niederdeutsch. but i know he just means flat Dutch).

Here, every thread needs a sound track, and my friend Thomas (you know, the guy from Würtemberg) suggested this one. I got a copy with lyrics so you could sing along.
