From the BBC.
Quote:A gun instructor in the US state of Ohio has accidentally shot a student in the arm in a class for people seeking permits to carry a concealed firearm.
Terry Dunlap, 73, was demonstrating a .38-calibre pistol when it went off and struck Michael Piemonte, 26.
He and his wife were taking the day-long class in order to carry guns for their own safety, he told local media.

@izzythepush,
ooooh Hes gonna have a lotta paperwork.
@farmerman,
I just posted it without comment so others could kick it about.
Izzy, I shouldn’t have laughed. It was a terrible accident...and one guy has been shot; the other shamed.
But I did.
Anyway…since they are much more likely to kill themselves or one of their family members…perhaps the rest of us should just shut up and let ‘em buy all the guns they want.
It may be an inexpensive way to improve the gene pool.
@Frank Apisa,
As long as nobody got permanently maimed, it's OK to laugh. It sounds like a comedy sketch to me. Imagine Leslie Nielsen playing the instructor.
It reminds me of a story in (I think) Siegfried Sassoon's autobiography, from when he was in Flanders in World War I. A sergeant instructor was demonstrating a new model hand grenade to a classroom full of soldiers. The sergeant was at a table and said "This model grenade is dangerous if you bang one end on a hard surface like this..." The sergeant and two of the class were killed.
@izzythepush,
I bet the student's homework is to dig out the bullet out and stitch up his own wound using a thread and needle, right?
