I'm really hoping there's a legitimate reason for this, my girlfriend has been in Portugal for a week with a girlfriend, I just called her as shes been pretty unresponsive the last few days, but when I called her mobile it was a deffibate uk dial tone, however she called back and claims to still be there. Is there any legit reason this could be happening or is she playing me for a mug?
peace out people

I think the dame's goofy for a dewdropper. Don't be a palooka. Get a dick to follow the skirt and shoot you the skinny.

@damiandaze,
Why not contact your service provider and ask them if it's possible?

What's a deffibate uk dial tone? Doing a search on it, it appears you are the only one to use such a phrase. Was it a typo perchance?

She's having a great time with a girlfriend, leave her alone to enjoy herself. By the way, how has she been unresponsive if this was the first time you called her mobile?

Why so distrusting of her?

@Butrflynet,
deffibate = definite (I am thinking misspelling plus typo)

@damiandaze,
I hate to tell you this, but every country does not have their own unique ringtone.
Or, if you called her cell phone, then perhaps since her phone has a UK number, it has the same ringtone as it does when she is home.

It seems to me that you are either letting your jealousy rule you, or that you are just paranoid and think she is cheating on you.
Either way, you are the one with the problem, not her.

In the old days, landline phones had an electric bell inside. When a caller dialled a number, AC current from a rotating mechanical generator in the exchange ("central office" in US terminology I believe) was fed down the line and made the bell ring. The same AC current was fed back to the calling phone and was heard in the earpiece as the "ring tone". So of course the caller heard the rhythm of the called phone's bell. Now most landline phone systems are digital, but even so the ring tone fed back to the caller simulates the ringing rhythm usual in the country you are calling.

This is NOT so when calling a mobile ("cell") phone. Wherever the phone is, if you are calling from the UK, you will hear a UK style ring tone. This is generated by the UK mobile company's network equipment.

So the OP needs to manage his jealousy issues. The phone he rang could have been anywhere, inside the UK or outside.

I forgot to say, I regularly call numbers in other countries, and from a UK land line phone I get the other countries' ring cadence but from a UK mobile I get a UK ring cadence whatever country I am calling.
