Is it a Canada-styled usage? System

The system here obviously refers to biosystem or "his body." It sounds Canadian. Is it particularly favored to use by Canadians?

Canadian actor Cory Monteith died from a mix of heroin and alcohol in his system, the B.C. Coroners service has confirmed.

"Post-mortem testing, which included an autopsy and toxicological analysis, found that Mr. Monteith, aged 31, died of a mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol," said a statement release by the coroner on Tuesday afternoon.

Canadian or not, it certainly is not an unAmerican useage. It's quite common, in fact.

Yes, we canadians like our systems. The term is very common in N. America as a whole.
