I don't know that brand and the company ways, but sorry to read that.

It's hard to tell from here at my computer if the company is a big mess or that this is actually not worrisome at the found level.

It was a long time ago that I got a degree from a fine place in bacteriology, but with years passed, I'm no expert.

I'd like to hear from present day bacteriologists.

It appears that this is one of those "natural, organic" pet food outfits. There is a reason humans developed the food preservatives that are so disdained by folks who don't seem to understand this. Salmonella and other enteric cryophilic organisms are generally quite heat liable and sensitive to preserving compounds, but they thrive in environments where such techniques are not used.
