Please teach me English by advising me about my following sentence.

@Loh Jane,
LJ, please take note of Dale's poor writing skills, at least for an erstwhile writer.

Google search gives these results:

- "has evolving into a professional" 1 hit.
- "has evolved into a professional" 1,780,000 hits.

@Loh Jane,
Either grown or evolved is fine.

@timur,

That's why I specify "erstwhile"

Tim I'm baffled. How does this comparison devolve in any way upon my assertion

Hi all,
thanks but I have one more inquiry. Can I say that the girl who was ugly has evolved into beautiful?

@Loh Jane,
". . . has evolved into being beautiful." would be better.

@Loh Jane,
Or you might say "The girl who was ugly has evolved into a beauty."

@Setanta,
That's what I would have said, but I'm never sure of how much I should tamper with the original example.

re timur:
I don't think dale was trying for "has evolving into a...", but rather "my belligerent brother has grown, evolving into a professional", which works.

@roger,
Yes, that's always a problem with students of English as a second language. My experience is that they want something as close as possible to what they have originally written.

@MontereyJack,
Jack, with a BS Journ and as an erstwhile writer (how do you like that term) myself I'm continually impressed by the diligence and determination of the esl, in the technical realm far exceeding my own capabilities
