@edgarblythe,
Hello..
The beauty of old hands is created by hard work.
The old man to the grandson.
-These new TV programs are so bored...
-Grandpa, you are not watching TV, you are looking at the microwave...
“The Little Boy and the Old Man
Said the little boy, "Sometimes I drop my spoon."
Said the old man, "I do that too."
The little boy whispered, "I wet my pants."
I do that too," laughed the little old man.
Said the little boy, "I often cry."
The old man nodded, "So do I."
But worst of all," said the boy, "it seems
Grown-ups don't pay attention to me."
And he felt the warmth of a wrinkled old hand.
I know what you mean," said the little old man.”

@edgarblythe,
What I really hate about getting older is losing my cousins. I didn’t like losing my aunts and uncles but I really hate losing my cousins. It feels like my family is being erased.......tonight I talked with one of my favorite cousins......my glorious red haired cousin Jimmy, the artist, the brew master, the beatnik, the renaissance man, the magnificent fun guy....he has been disgnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer......and he has refused the experimental treatments...but he’s on comfort measures....it going to suck big time when Jimmy isn’t here anymore. My cousin is an atheist so I won’t ask for prayers and thoughts.....he is a special man...and our family embraces everything.
@glitterbag,
Yeah. Of my original family members of 15, seven are left alive. Among the aunts and uncles of my Mom's original family, none is left. It leaves huge gaps in my reality if I dwell on it. So I mostly wall it away, except on occasion, such as a birthday or such.
