In soccer, they should widen the goalmouths to 10m x 3m. There would be tons more goals scored,
so the importance of yellow cards relative to penalties would increase by a lot.

Fining them in order to prevent flopping raises issues of fairness. First of all, $5000 is hardly anything to them, so in order for the fine to mean anything it has to be $50,000 or $100,000. But at that level it hurts the other two more than it hurts LeBron, because LeBron makes more than the other two. Perhaps, you could fine them a percentage of their salary? Another option is to assign flagrants for flopping...

But I plan to keep watching and pretending there's no flopping going on. We've lived for years with claims that refs were on the take, and every year I've managed to forget while the games were going on. This is no different, for me.

@Kolyo,

the rule has teeth...
Quote:
players are fined $5,000 for their first flopping offense, $10,000 for a second, $15,000 for a third, and $30,000 for a fourth.
Any player who flops five or more times could be suspended

@Region Philbis,
Why doesn't the league just charge a technical foul on the flopper? Is it really that bad/epidemic in basketball these days?

@tsarstepan,
I agree. Furthermore, why do I hate Miami so much; but, individuals I but I hate the team? It's kinda like the NY Yankees in baseball; but for different reasons.

An example just happened with LaBron technically fouling Hibbert on the offense. Just amazing over, over arrogance.

Heat get it done tonight...Do they have enough to bring it home? I still think they do, but SA is going to have like 11 days off, and that is bad for the Heat in game 1...

I normally root against the Spurs -- because I'm a Suns fan, and that's what we do -- but in this case, I'll make an exception.

@Ticomaya,
Spurs are far more likeable for me than The Heat. Duncan and Parker are very high on my list.

I knew I had a bad feeling for the Heat in game 1 with 9 days off for the Spurs...I am going to stay convicted with my pick, and won't hedge, and still say Heat in 7...

But this is what I think will happen here on out...

Heat game 2, SA in 3, Heat in 4, SA in 5, Heat 6, Heat 7...

I flipped game 2...since the Heat lost tonight...

@panzade,
I watched that last play with Parker against the world over and over. He dribbled and darted his way through the Gig 3. Having that force field around him was a brilliant stroke.

@BillW,
Funny thing about that. Parker never complained about the effort it took one of the shortest guards in the game to beat the best defenders in the game in one of the most clutch moments of his career.

That was a pretty sick block that LeBron just had...still arrogant though, and stood there to pose rather then get down the floor till he realized it was not going to be a fast break...This is the Heat I expected to see though...
