I know I am ahead of myself a bit here...but it looks like Heat are gonna go up 2-1 tonight...In Indiana...if it is the Heat and SA...I think it will be a great series, but I think LeBron attacking the basket could get Duncan into early foul trouble...every game...and I think SA will have to rotate big men to stop LeBron, and save Duncan's fouls...to have any shot to win...

I think Manu, = Allen, Chalmers, Battier...(right now) Parker = a bit better than Wade right now because of his health + Cole...I think Lebron = Duncan, but scores more, less rebounds...I think Birdman, and others = the rebounds that Lebron does not grab...I think SA has no answer to Bosh as a scoring PF...and is the x-factor to bring another title home...

Heat in 7...

Heat game one, SA game 2, SA game 3, Heat 4, SA 5, Heat 6, Heat 7

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
That's as good a prediction as I've seen. Bosh is the X factor ...to me.

@panzade,
Where and when did Birdman evolve in the role that Bosh was filling. He's an 85% shooter in this series and making crucial plays in the paint.

Sure...absolutely...I understand the mentality of being a superstar athlete and trying to gain an edge in every way that you can within your own sport...and that is what makes these players in these sports greats...but when it is seen in a slower version, as well as an instant replay ability just how blatantly obvious that a man that is that built just purposely reacted as if he had just got hit in the face by a Mack truck...I think it is pretty damn hilarious...It makes me think that half of these guys who flop could actually be talented actors...

My point was...I think that the flop in basketball is probably the biggest deterrents of actually be able to gain an edge, or maintain and sustain this edge compared to almost any other way a superstar can try to maintain an edge, rather than lose it, in any other sport I can think of...(the most counter productive)

Aside from cheating...(which is different in its own ways) Can you think of what appears to be more ridiculous in any other sport, rather than (sometimes) 7 foot big men just blatantly dropping like that?

I think that you are correct...but I think LeBron just illustrates it more, since he is widely viewed as the greatest on the planet...

I personally think that "the flop" destroys the integrity of the game of basketball itself that these superstars play, more than anything I can personally think of players doing in any other sport (besides cheat)

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
There are certain acts in all sports that are like a flop in BB. But I think the worst part of the flop is the faking of injury.

NBA players cannot hold a candle to professional international soccer players when it comes to flopping and faking momentary death/injury.

@Ticomaya,

how do they officiate those?

is it an automatic foul, or does the ref have to decide whether the player is faking or not?

peekaboo = guilty!

@Region Philbis,
The ref has a lot of discretion, obviously, and can refuse to blow the whistle if he thinks the player took a dive. Or he may give a yellow card if the player embellishes or dives.
