I turned it off at intermission. They were beating the crap out of James.
Much more entertaining was the Bruins-Canadians slugfest.

@Region Philbis,
Mr. Green Mr. Green

All they ever do is talk about football in general...I turn it on to hear baseball...and Mike and Mike and such are still talking about that new running back football rule...

NCAA Tournament: Wichita State makes Elite Eight, sends Cinderella La Salle packing

The ninth-seeded Shockers put La Salle in a big early hole and never gave it a chance to recover, rolling to a 72-58 West Region semifinal victory at Staples Center. Wichita State led the Explorers 17-3 as fans were just getting to their seats, built a 22-point lead and never let LaSalle get closer than 11 points in the second half.

Wichita State (29-8) will play for a spot in the Final Four on Saturday against Ohio State at 7 p.m.

Has there ever been a men's and women's champion from the same school?

so tonight the C's are attempting to become only the 4th team in NBA history to force a game 7 after being down 3-zip (to the knicks).
ironically, the knicks were the first team to ever accomplish the feat (1951)...

@Region Philbis,
I am ever hopeful. I'd love to see it happen that C's take them to a game #7. I understand that KG is really dinged up badly. However, he's so intense and so passionate that I think as long as he can move, he'll be in the lineup.

Happy as a clam there are 4 games to watch tonight. My remote should be pretty toasty warm switching back-and-forth tonight.

i think he's healthy now, but still a bit rusty after the layoff.
he's been rebounding like a (bleeper-bleeper) this series, that's for sure...

@Region Philbis,
He's got a 17 reb-game-avg for the last 3, and those clutch points and FTs to wrap up that last game. KG for Prez!

@Ragman,

88-80 knicks.
no sense of urgency for 3 1/2 quarters, followed by a furious comeback from 26 down.
at that point the deficit was 6 -- but then they ran outta steam, as is often the case...

i think that was it for both pierce and garnett.

garnett played ok, but pierce looked old and slow throughout.
he had no lift on his jumper.

if ainge does decide to bring them back -- i can't see just one of them coming back -- it will be as off the bench veteran presence.

neither one can be satisfied with how this year went, so they'll prolly wanna give it one more go.

the bahstin media constantly harps on how the C's kept bird, mchale and parrish past their primes, and how it hurt the team in the early 90's.
ainge was part of that, and i don't think he wants to see history repeated...

@Region Philbis,
All I can say is <sigh>!

Somehow, C's, being a well-run organization, will rebuild. I think this one will take a few years. I'd love to see Doc stay on through the transition, but that is my selfish desire.

@Region Philbis,
I like the parts that we expect will be back. Rondo as PG with Green as shooting guard is good. Next yr if he's still interested in playing, KG would be great in the role the way Bill Walton did - putting in a solid 20-25 mins per game.

Doc as HOF coach: I haven't liked everything Doc has done as a coach, but I'd hard-pressed to figure out what he could've done better.

In a fantasy trade:
I don't think Mark Gasol would be willing (nor the Grizz be) to come over to the green side, but I sure would like it. There has to be something reasonable with which to trade.

Wow, I don't know if anyone is following the Heat-Pacers series, but it looks like Miami might not be as invincible as we thought. Is Indiana's size causing them real trouble in this series? I don't have a TV, but I might have to watch a game or two at a bar one of these nights.

(Pacers have just tied the series, 1-1.)

I need to ask mr. Glitterbag, he is a huge Tar Heel fan.....but I seem to remember the men's & woman's teams from UNC won maybe 10 years ago? Can't swear it's right, need to check with the b-ball expert in the morning.

That sounds about right

Heat are vulnerable; if Wade doesn't pick up the pace. He's hurting.
