(National) Nov. 16, 2004 - Tom Hanks is expected to star in "The Da Vinci Code." The Oscar winner would play the part of professor Robert Langdon, who pursues the mystery of the Holy Grail.

Ron Howard will direct the film, which is based on Dan Brown's best-selling novel. Shooting is projected for next year.

Denzel Washington is hitting the "Great White Way." The Oscar winner will play Brutus in a production of "Julius Caesar." It opens at the Belasco Theater in April. The last time Washington played Broadway was 1988.

U2 kicks-off a world tour on March 1st in Florida. The Irish quartet will be promoting their new album, "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb," which hits stores on November 23rd.

And, singer David Lee Roth is jumping into a new profession. The former frontman for Van Halen is training to be a paramedic. He tells the "New York Post" he's already been on more than 200 emergency rides around New York City. Several weeks ago he reportedly saved the life of a heart attack victim in the Bronx using a defibrillator.

Roth says so far no one's recognized him. His mentor on the job says Roth seems to be taking his job seriously, and you'd never know you're dealing with a famous rock-and-roll star.
