Who do you think they should cast for the characters in the film adaptation of Dan Brown's
The Da Vinci Code
Oh, man, this book has faded fast.
When I read it I thought they were sure to make a movie out of it (is that definite?) and had all the actors lined up. But I've forgotten already, just a few months on.
Possibly Harrison Ford for the guy, although that would have unfortunate Indiana Jones overtones.
I think they should avoid superstars who have Hollywood stamped all over them. How about...
Robert Langdon - Kevin Kline, Gabriel Bryne
Sophie - Audrey Tautou
Silas - Jake Busey
Teabing - Tim Curry, John Cleese
Sauneire - Drew Barrymore?? (j/k)
Jean Reno could be either Collet or Fache
Kevin Kline maybe, but I don't know about Gabriel Byrne. His style of acting would fit the character, but there's no way in hell Byrne can shake his Irish accent.
Robert Langdon - Kiefer Sutherland
Sophie - Natascha McElhone
Silas - definately Jake Busey (good call sozobe)
Teabing - Max Von Sydow
Sauneire - Anthony Hopkins
Fache - Gary Oldman
Cast of Da Vinci Code Movie
Cast:
Robert Langdon: Pierce Brosnan
Sophie: Rachel Weisz
Bishop: Ed Harris
Fache: Gabriel Byrne
Silas: a bulked up, bald, pale Kevin Bacon
Teabing: Sean Connery
Sauniere: Anthony Hopkins
now use a2k characters \ personalities
I thought Robert Langdon was American.
First of all, WELCOME TO A2K, rystall79!
Golly, if an American can play a Brit, a Brit can play an American!
I'm sticking by Kevin Kline! He needs some work, anyway.
I like the idea of Kevin Kline.
Robert Langdon - may be Kevin Kline
Sophie Neveau - Sienna Guillory!
Jacque Sauniere - Anthony Hopkins
Bezu Fache - Jean Reno, Steven Seagal (look like a bull)
Silas - Jake Busey (excellent choise)
Teabing - Sean Connery
Christian Bale may be also for Bezu Fache, and Monica Potter as Sophie Neveau, Hugh Jackman as Robert Langdon.
Hey, welcome to A2K and the film forum, vytne. Sounds like some ligitimate news from Variety or ?
Do you have a link?
no. just my thought.
How about:
Robert Langdon - William L. Petersen (from CSI, maybe not a big enough star though)
Sophie - Audrey Tautou
Jacque Sauniere - Armin Mueller-Stahl
Silas - Jake Busey (good choice, would have never thought of him)
Bishop Manuel Aringarosa - Ed Harris
Lee Teabing - Richard Griffiths
Here's a thought, just throwing it out there, but what about Robin Williams as Langdon?
Here are my suggestions :
Langdon : Tom Hanks
Sophie : Kate Beckinsale
Fache : Jean Reno (unforgettable Niemans)
Silas : I liked the suggestions for Jake Busey
Sauniere : Hopkins would be great for the short performance
Teabing : Ian Holm
Monica Bellucci as Sophie.
I truly believe the story is so strong that it can be done with a cast of newbies and hopefully spawn a new generation of actors which would be great. Although my wish list of actors would be as follows(rather expensive cast);
Robert Langdon - James Spader
Sophie Neveau - Kirsten Dunst
Jacque Sauniere - Peirce Brosnan
Bezu Fache - Jean Reno or Robert Deniro
Collett - Adrian Paul (Highlander)
Silas - Jake Busey (top choice)
Teabing - Richard Attenborough, Donald Sutherland
Bishop Aringorosa: James Gandolfini "Tony Soprano"
Can't wait for the movie and one can only hope it stays try to the book but now that Hollywood is involved somehow I feel they will compromise the story for viewers hunger for romance which I truly hope that they don't do.
Spader wouldn't be as expensive as Kline but the rest of your cast is dynamite. I like it and welcome to A2K and the film forum, soldano.
I'm not too sure about Gandolfini 'cause I might be looking for him hiding a machine gun under that robe.
