The shortest way to pronounce "21st century"

It sounds not like "twenty first century," because "first" there seems to be read in some shorter way.
Would you like to explain this?

Context:

I'm Jason Subler. Senior consultant for China Daily and 21st Century.

It's pronounced "twenty first century." There is no shorter way to say it although there is a shorthand way to write it.

Just like this, only say 21st rather than 20th.

In fast speech, Ori, it is 21first centry.

That'd be the shortest way.
