Hi English teachers,
May I ask if my following sentence is acceptable?
In light of the fact that my colleagues can’t write, I have become aware of a writing skill is crucial.

I have two more questions,please help.
1)Is the sentence below acceptable?
I have become aware of the importance of writing ability.
2)Can I change the word to cognizant or conscious? For example I have become cognizant/conscious that writing ability is crucial.

technically speaking you could, but it doesn't sound natural.

better: "I realized that writing ability is crucial" or "It has occured to me that writing ability is crucial"...

Phil okay Jane but I'm guessing "is crucial" s/b "as crucial" in which case however, you don't need the preceding "a"
