Can I say a car has been knocked on by another car?

Idiom is so difficult, and needs a lot of care.

You could say you car has had a knock. (a bump)
The engine has a knock (an unusual sound, meaning mechanical trouble)
A knock-on effect is a consequence of something else.
"Knocked up" means pregnant!
Knock it on the head" means finish it.

Where a more emotional, current importance, hot topic description is desired,

A car has been hit by another car.
