Hi English teachers,
Is there any nuance between option,selection and choice?Thank you very much in advance.
For instance I don't like to study but I have no option/selection/choice.

In that particular sentence, option sounds more like formal writing than choice. Selection seems to have the same definition as the others, but at least to me, it seems to imply that there are alternatives to choose from.

I would be most likely to use choice, but it's pretty much a matter of, well, choice.

Usually, no, there isn't any meaningful distinction. However, in your example, i can't think a native English speaker would ever use the word selection--option or choice, however, would be interchangeable there. I guess it's an arcane thing, just knowing where selection would be used in the same way.

If I had to make a choice between several objects, I would be just as comfortable making a selection as a choice. Maybe it's just a matter of habit.
