@Baldimo,
It's RARE compared to all the violence perpetrated by families of gun owners.

VERY RARE!

@cicerone imposter,
You claim it is rare but 3 people at A2K have used guns for defensive purposes and no one on the site has committed a crime against their family members. Keep telling yourself that it is rare. Whatever it takes to sleep at night.

@cicerone imposter,
I woud not matter WHAT any statistics may be.
The defensive rights of the Individual remain intact,
as per the 2nd Amendment and the USSC in the HELLER case.

Government can interfere only by naked USURPATION of stolen power.

That's laughable if not so tragic! You can see the obvious, but there's no cure for s........

From today's San Jose Mercury News.

@BillRM,
Well said, Bill

It's better to HAVE a gun and not need it
than it is to NEED a gun and not have it.

@OmSigDAVID,
That will end up killing a family member MORE THAN saving that same family.

@cicerone imposter,
Too many times victims NEED to kill family members,
including some that I have known. In the absence
of that ability, thay have perished; i.e., the penalty
for OBAYING the gun control laws can be death.

@cicerone imposter,
OK, C.I.:
I will respect your right to "cast your fate to the winds".
Let the predators decide your destiny.

Good luck with that.

To add that both my wife and I both enjoy going to the gun range and target shooting our guns.

NOBODY is denying anyone to go to a target range to shoot guns. NOBODY.

I believe that for some people like David, it's an addiction. Addictions out of the norm aren't based on intelligence.

@cicerone imposter,

Kind of on a par with ten-pin bowling, it seems to me.

And come to think of it, Rip van Winkle played bowls, so maybe that was written into the Constitution too, that the right of the People to bowl balls endlessly and pointlessly should not be infringed.

The 9th Amendment preserves intact pre-existing rights.

@OmSigDAVID,
Don't you know your Constitution? All rights are not unlimited, and that goes for 'PRE-EXISTING RIGHTS.' They can be amended.

Nonsense there had been posters here who defend the fact that the anti-guns laws are so extreme in the UK that the UK Olympics pistol team need to leave the country in order to practice and would love to be able to imposed similar laws in the US..
