@McTag,

LOL I am as fearful of having a fire in my home as I had a number of large fire extinguishers around the home and one in my car also!!!!!
Now fool in any case in the year 1992 my area did not have a fully functioning phone system, police department,fire department and electric power for months.
There was in fact no way to call for the fire department or the police department for months on end and in an area with 30,000 plus there was not even electric service and all you would hear is the whine of home generators.
People who live in those neighborhoods set up armed patrols and kept doing so until the governments both Federal and state and local got their acts together.
For some time postage employees openly broke Federal law and was openly armed in the post offices in that area until once more the governments at all level got their act together.
One class 5 hurricane can turn a fairly large area into a third world as far as security in concern be it police or fire.
Footnote the government send in the 101 airborne but did not allow them to have bullets for their weapons and when the local gangs found out about that we was damn lucky not to have some of our young soldiers killed.
