Please correct my English sentence below, thanks a lot in advance.
My previous boss always championed my colleague to challenge me.

It's fine.
One might write:
My previous boss always championed my colleague in oreder to challenge me.--but your sentence works the way it is.
You're welcome--your English improves apace.
By the way, as i'm sure you noticed, i made a typographical error in the word order.
