@Region Philbis,
Damn, that made me cry, Region - good watery tears about kindness, connection.

<I've always loved Chicago. Well, since 1950.>

Federal taxes were due on 4/15/13 , but the IRS has now changed this date for residents in Boston. I don't know the new date.
I sent in and paid my taxes about 2 weeks ago so it doesn't apply to me.

@Setanta,
Quote:
The most disturbing aspect of this event is that this creep (or creeps) loaded the bombs with nails, ball bearings--all manner of fragments. This creep was going for maximum damage even to those who survived the blast.

Creeps at the very least.

This is kind of a cruel irony, isn't it?

Sad Sad Sad

Revelation by Lindsey Graham marks the first time any US official has given a number for drone fatalities.

A 29-year-old restaurant manager has been identified as one of three people killed in the bombing at the Boston Marathon.

Her father says Krystle Campbell, of Medford, Mass., had gone with her best friend to take a picture of the friend's boyfriend crossing the finish line on Monday afternoon.

William Campbell says his daughter, who worked at a restaurant in nearby Arlington, was "very caring, very loving person, and was daddy's little girl." He says the loss has devastated the family.

He says the friend was seriously injured in the explosion.

Members of several Boston area public safety unions are teaming up to offer a $50,000 reward for information leading to arrests in the deadly marathon bombings.

The Boston Police Superior Officers Federation, the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association, including Boston EMS, Boston Fire Department Local 718 and the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts are offering the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those who committed these "unspeakable acts of cowardice."

The reward will be administered through the Boston Firefighters Credit Union.

New York Yankees to honor Boston with moment of silence and playing of Fenway favorite Sweet Caroline during tonight's game

"Sweet Caroline"

Where it began,
I can't begin to knowin'
But then I know it's growing strong
Was in the spring
And spring became the summer
Who'd have believed you'd come along.

Hands, touchin' hands
Reachin' out, touchin' me touchin' you
Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I've been inclined
To believe they never would
But now I, look at the night
And it don't seem so lonely
We fill it up with only two.

And when I hurt,
Hurtin' runs off my shoulders
How can I hurt when I'm with you
Warm, touchin' warm
Reachin' out, touchin' me touchin' you
Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I've been inclined,
To believe they never would
Oh, no, no

Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
Sweet Caroline,
I believe they never could
Sweet Caroline.........

Just got a call from home.
My neighbor's son was at the finish line when the bomb went off.
He's lost one leg and they are fighting to save the other.
Mark is only in his thirties and a roofer by trade.
His mom is devastated.

Just listening to the news and your FBI seem to be confirming that it was a nail and bb bomb, designed to cause as much damage as possible.
The style of bomb is absolutely typical of the IRA bombs set off in the UK during the late 70's early 80's . The one i witnessed (luckily from afar) was in Hyde park during the summer of '82 and i never want to ever see that sight again.
My reckoning is that all these baddies learn from one another, so if it is a muslim terrorist thing, they probably have trainers who learnt their trade from the provos or similarr when they were sharing knowledge and arms with Gaddafi all those years ago.

@Lordyaswas,
however that points the finger at no one in particular or to everyone who can read.
