Hi English teachers,
does the below sentence mean we did not notice the broken window until later? Many thanks in advance.
Not until later we did notice the broken window.

A small quibble--the native speaker would write:

Not until later did we notice the broken window.

No they wouldn't. They'd say, 'We didn't notice the window was broken until later.'

They could (and do) use either, depending on various things e.g. how formal they were being, whether they were writing or speaking, and indeed whether they were aware of the more formal "did we" form.
