First of all, sorry for writing so long.
I'm a guy. My "girl" friend and I become friends since 9th grade then later on we become close in 11th grade. We chat online alot more than talk outside. We always help each other out emotionally but at school We look like a stranger to each other. She talks a little bit and use head, hand movement whenever I talk and ask her (She talks to other classmate normally). Even when we go to the movie and hangout. I'm like a stranger to her when face to face, but a close one when online. What's it with her? Why is she doing this to me? Please everybody I need somehelp, I'm very depressed about this.
F.Y.I: I'm not gay or being friendzone, we're just friends.

@techeak,
You might just ask her online or offline your question as I do not think anyone here would know one way or another

@techeak,
Try this.

"Susan (or whatever her name is), when we're texting, you're really friendly. At school and in public, you don't seem to be. Can you please tell me why?"

And do it in person, not via text.

@techeak,
She sounds insecure techeak,

Clearly she feels comfortable online, you could ask her there. Otherwise insecurity isn't something you can demand to go away in another person. Just keep supporting her and complimenting her, only through that will it begin to disappear in her.
