What does "be square" mean? Does it mean "(you're)tasteless"?

Context:
On some others, including 'If You Are the One' and 'Be There or Be Square, ' he was both screenwriter and director.

Here 'square' means to be conventional. Uncool, and not hip.

The usage is not as common as it used to be, but 'square' still has the virtue of rhyming with 'there'.
