is teary eyes the same as crying?

when I get excited or like just happy about somethings I tend to get teary eyed. I rarely cry but I do get teary eyed sometimes. I just wanted to know if that's the same or naw?

In regard to their definitions, and what you've described, i.e. teary-eyes due to excitement or happiness, they're the same thing.
