Hi, I noticed that everytime after I've been crying I get really sleepy and I get awful headaches. Why? Also, why do your eyes get red and puffy? I always look terrible after I've been crying

@GracieGirl,
Because that's just the way it is. If you quit doing it, it'll go away.

@GracieGirl,
Your crying probably drained u of your energy,
as if u had chopped down a big tree, or dug a deep hole.

If u get tired, u wanna rest.

I think David is right. Also, crying allows for a release of pent up emotions. The tension behind them takes a lot of energy to hold on to. Once those tensions are released your body needs to rest to get some strength back. Your were probably exhausted all along and just didn't feel it until you let go of the tension.

@JPB,
Crying is an amazing release of physical as well as emotional tension. So is yelling. Like a dam that overflows, the release of all that energy can be exhausting and overwhelming. Whatever the event (or series of events) was that caused you to cry, they were storing up for awhile.
