Sambuca - and anise/licorice liqueur from Italy, history (ssuch as it is) here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambuca

Lola - to use italics, go to the reply page and click on the little green words Open BBCode Editor; highlight (move cursor over holding down mouse) then click on the small i button.

To quote any post -
first go to My Preferences at the bottom of the page and enable the Quote button to show above the person's post (it will be obvious how) then either click the button above the person's post that says quote - and then you have to erase what you don't want when the whole thing shows up,

or, highlight the words you want to quote and Copy them, and then go to your reply window and your now opened BBCode Editor (which I've left open for years now, you don't have to close it every time) and click on the quote button and then Paste the quote in the small space between the quote brackets.

Hope that's clear..

ugh, had to edit and my typing is bad today (sore finger).

I'll have a triple Scotch and water on the rocks.

Hold the water.

Hold the rocks also.

I talk about this in my new thread: http://able2know.org/topic/207749-1

@edgarblythe,
Please share your peanuts with me, Edgar. I don't have the strength left to order my own.

@farmerman,
We should toast to all those we've lost. I'm not sure I know them all. Dys, of course is gone. I'm very sad about loosing him. I've actually named a chair, here at my favorite table by the sunny window for Dys. It's the Dyslexia honorary chair. You can see that it's decorated with a wood carving of Fred the Parrot and a painting of Sally the Dog on the back. I haven't seen Diane around here. I wanted to invite her to the official chair naming. Has anybody seen Diane?

@Setanta,
Here you go Osso, a newly filled cream dispenser. Lilly, the barrista has her hands full right now with some tourists in the corner.

McCall Smith, huh? If I only had time to read for fun. After I'm finished with this book I'm reading for a psychoanalytic training week end in New York in early March, I'll check it out.

@Berty McJock,
that little birdie is well informed. I wonder who told him...........

Welcome Berty. I'm Lola, very nice to meet you. Or do I already know you by another name, perhaps?

Big snowstorm apparently heading toward us.

Is there any soup in the kettle?

Any room at the Stammtisch for me?

Love to take you to dinner if possible, Lola. Or just get together for coffee and...if the schedule is tight. I'm sure Nancy would enjoy saying "hi" also.

Any chance?

@Lola,
Good - you will have more questions and we'll help you survive the changes.

Diane's ok - but she doesn't post much on a2k. I talk to her quite often and see her sometimes, like just last week.

@ehBeth,
Wassau bustles around up the stairs to prepare rooms for those who want to stay for the storm. Oh boy, that will be so much fun.

We have beef stew with corn, potatos and peas in the pressure cooker right now. It will be ready any minute. Served over rice with bananas and avocado make it even better still. Yumm..........really that's what I had for dinner tonight. It was delicious. (My daughter cooked it. She's a great cook.)

@Frank Apisa,
I would love it Frank, but I've already given away the Friday evening to an old friend from Social Work school. It's the only night I have since I'm going to be there just for the week end. I'm in meetings all day Saturday and then Sunday morning, then I have to hurry to LaGuardia. But wait, I might have Saturday evening free. I'll check and see and let you know. We could all meet at Cafe 101, except now it's a Mexican Food Restaurant which annoys me to no end! I'm on the upper east side for the meetings and a cocktail party until 7:30 or so.

I'll let you know.
