@farmerman,
The population could not be fed on free range stuff fm and besides, if it was to be, consumers would have little money left over from necessities and the DOW would sag to levels not seen since the late thirties.

I suspect you are titivating the social airs, for personal gain, of ladies who buy their marmalade in hexagon shaped, thick-walled, glass jars, which prevent all the contents being utilised, displaying sepia-tinted reproductions of drawings of little country cottages, rather than in 5 litre plastic tubs from the hotel supply industry from which every last morsel can be scraped with a piece of buttered toast if you don't mind getting your wrist sticky. Which I don't.

May all your wishes come true.

@farmerman,
Wassau is fetching your hot chocolate with chile powder right now. Sacher torte? I'm sure he'll oblige.

Great to see you here again, farmerman. It's been quite a while since we had the pleasure of your company.

@Lustig Andrei,
Halloooo back!!! Nope - Lola's away at the moment, but this place is open for business as usual. Plus improvements! More music, a bigger and better menu - plenty on offer.

@vonny,
Anyone want some hot chocolate, to go with those gingerbread cookies?

Or, how about some little wrapped sandwiches to munch on?

I love the chocolate covered pretzels--Wassau just gave me a box to take home. Smile

@farmerman,
It's made of piparkūkas, which is the the literal translation for "Pfefferkuchen", one of the German word for what you call gingerbread (the other is 'Lebkuchen').
The Germans brought the recipe(s) to the Scandinavic countries and Hanseatic cities of the Baltic Sea ...
