@edgarblythe,
Sounds about right to me. Same holds for most of the superstition things. Well, make that all of them.

While that's being done I'll have another bowl of borscht to help ease off the chill which has entered the night air.

Today is National Cheeseburger Day. Smile

Cheeseburgers are my idea of soul food. And, in honor of the day, Wassau has made me one of my favorite combos. I'm in heaven...

@vonny,
I was toying with the idea of staring a separate thread for this, but I'll post it here instead.

Quote:
A wedding service was delayed when an owl bearing rings fell asleep in the church roof.

Darcy the barn owl was meant to fly down the aisle at Holy Cross Church in Sherston, Wiltshire, and deliver rings to Sonia Cadman and Andrew Matley.

Instead the one-year-old owl flew into the church roof to roost. It took about an hour to get her down.

The Reverend Christopher Bryan said: "We tried all we could to get it down but it just wouldn't budge."

He said the owl seemed "very happy" in the roof and could not be tempted down with a treat.

"It must have been an hour before they got a ladder to rescue it," he said.

@vonny,
I took my son to the owl and raptor reserve in Ringwood over the summer, and we got pretty close to this guy.

@izzythepush,
Show them the HP Sauce advert izzy. What the actual eating looks like.

A classic nommie-nommie-nom nom.

Great gesture on behalf of the Husband to be, I would have been in stitches too, all I could come up with was a fish bowel centre piece, with goldfish which was apt as we were by the sea, but funny in as much as everyone was asking if they could take them home, well off course, (let the nice fight begin)...

@izzythepush,
Izzy, tut tut were no you not taught manners?

A marque by the beach front, sand and sea in front, electric blue and white theme, and cute fish swimming in the bowl in the middle of the table, that end up getting a home afterwards, instead of spending their life, trying to get past 100's of other fish daily, then dying perhaps in a huge fish tank eventually...

Sounds fantastic to me.

I would far rather allow you to take the credit.

I have linked it somewhere but have forgotten which thread.

Read your original post. You didn't write fish bowl, you wrote fish bowel. There is quite a difference.

@FOUND SOUL,
So what was the centrepiece of your wedding, fish bowls or fish bowels?

@Lustig Andrei,
Good memories for me, there (skip the cheese).

Never mind the rooms, are the libraries still there?
