@hamburgboy,
hamburgboy, I've never asked you before - seems invasive to inquire - but if you ever feel like talking about the wartime, I'm sure some of us would want to listen.
Not necessary, just that you might not know that.

No notice of my thread by Frank or Lustig, you probably didn't see it. But I would be interested in your takes on it so far, pro or con or maybes. Including if it annoys you.

It's on the long side on purpose, so I can remember the sequence.

It's on the long side on purpose, so I can remember the sequence as it all got complicated.

@ossobuco,
Ive been away so I only now have read about your recent drug interaction.
I keep my doc always informed of any surprise symptoms because Im on several diff meds an each has a rap sheet of interactions that affect a few percent of users.
Bein 60 is a bitch eh?

@farmerman,
I was just about clinging on to spring chicken status at 60 fm. It's not about being 60.

@spendius,
ok you megaboffin, what is it about?

All diseases and "conditions" seem to statistically cluster around two major areas

1AGE

2DIET

We can control one of the above, can you guess which one ?

@farmerman,
It's about taking care of yourself and having some luck. Like when the infantry advances.

@spendius,
"Send reinforcements. We're going to advance"
-"What did he say?"
"Sir, sounded like, 'Send three and fourpence, we're going to a dance', sir."

@farmerman,
I thought of you, farmer, almost right away after the blackout happened. And of Frank and the french restaurant episode.

Gee, I'm getting like my friend jlnobody - I posted that post above three times in a row (too much study of fantasy football prospects until the early morning).

The oddity with all this is that my blood pressure/hypertension isn't all that bad in the first place, relative to how bad that can be as a problem. And the small pill I was taking for it, which generally worked well, was part of the fainting scenario.

On diet, mine's damned good - or as damned good as I ever want it to be. I eat more vegetables than anybody I know, just about no packaged or canned foods, generally the right fats, rarely have a dessert (although I made sicilian gelato yesterday), make my own mixed grain breads. I sin with butter once in a while, and still have some drinks, but way less than I used to. I do eat meat, but relatively little. I eat a lot of oily fish. I use spices like turmeric and chile pepper in my cooking. Anyway, my lab results are swell.

I think of you as an older man. (snort) You're an older man to me like I'm an older woman to edgarblythe.

@vonny,
Well fortunately that doesn't include me as I'm still under 100.

I think I'll have the pistachio ice cream while I stand over near that new art display by a local artist which Wasausus (can't spell his name it seems) has graciously put up here.

@Sturgis,
Which art display - Wassau has two running, classical and modern - depends on which you prefer? His barbecue went down like a lead brick - Firefly and myself were the only attendees from A2K! Not surprised he's running at a loss!

We might disagree on art, but I'm sure most people like ice cream!

@vonny,
The beach BBQ was great, vonny. These duds don't know what they missed. I think the Coffee House is becoming a hang-out for old farts whose get up and go got up and went. Laughing

The art display is nice but I'd really rather go uptown and walk around the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Every once in a while I have to pay my favorite painting a visit.

I could look at that painting forever. I could live inside that painting.

Want to go to the museum with me? I love shopping in the Met gift shop--I have loads of their jewelry to prove it. Smile

For a change, we can grab a bite in the museum. How about afternoon tea in the Petrie Court Café?

How about it?

@firefly,
http://www.metmuseum.org/en/visit/plan-your-visit/dining-at-the-museum/petrie-court-cafe-and-wine-bar/all-day-menu

The first day (I need to see the museum four days in a row), I'll have the romaine salad and shrimp a la plancha, and a glass of sauvignon blanc. Oh, and water with lemon.

My favorite painting there - I can't just pick one.
