Hello to all you coffee drinkers in here, the denizens of the den.

I see they're going to ban fatty sugary muffins from British hospitals.

These things always look tempting, then when you've eaten one, you kind of wonder why you did, and hate yourself a little. A metaphor for life, really.

@McTag,
I once worked in a hospital that had great food (and I doubt there were real sweet muffins then); not that I was such a food maven between the ages of sixteen and twenty two, but it tasted good then and in retrospect had the best hospital food I've ever seen or heard of. So, rah! rah! to St. John's in Santa Monica between 1957 and 1963.

Are you familiar with Ralfy, McT? LINK

I find that I read your posts using his voice. (Not out loud, of course.)

@Ticomaya,

What accent? The guy speaks well, in well-modulated and well-lubricated tones.

Thanks for the link, I've shared it already.

I sound more like the janitor/caretaker in South Park.

@firefly,
Hi, Found Soul. The jocks are really funny, especially as I keep imagining how the eyes move as he walks...

Tonight's dinner looks fabulous: a real culinary adventure, at least for me.

Now that you're back, please tell us of some of your adventures.

Yep Spendi, Usually they aren't wearing any ! Wink

So yummy Firefly, I have to work out how they made the sauces, so different than here. To die for (not literally) Wink

Hi Diane, Smile

Ventures... Mmm..

Well, our driver from the air port got lost as he had the wrong resort Wink So, we travelled for 2 hrs at night sight seeing, can't complain at all..

We went to an Island called Ko-Pee for my 50th. 2hrs from where we were, full of resorts, beautiful beach, people. It's low season so people sat up-stairs in the restaurant and we booked a table of 4. When we arrived for dinner, they had a table for us, of 4, on the beach, with flowers, lanterns just beautiful.. Then a fire show. Guess I have to post those huh Smile

The resort was beautiful, private pool that lead out to a large pool and a bar.

We tried so many different restaurants and managed to find a local haunt, with pool table and music.. We also found the best seafood restaurant on the sea, with floating houses and the seafood was freshly cooked there on the spot, never tasted fresh seafood so good!!!

We say temples, the animals looked hot and everyone feeds them, scooters everywhere, side saddling with couples and bubs on the front of bikes. The cars watch carefully and toot all the time and give priority to the bikes. Just beautiful.

Fed some elephants, saw the biggest Budda up on a hill, ever.

Walked alot, had a massage Smile

Walked the markets and bought some gifts.

So cheap. Food for 4 was around $150 with wine and shared plates x 8 at least, sometimes less. Off course more if we decided to have the best wines..

Taxi's are so cheap as well and the tours to our destination allowed us to see Gypsy villages, as well as normal living.

There was one local with a puppy, about to venture home with his lady on his bike ... so cute...

We for sure will be going back and we are now saving to purchase a home over there for retirement. Any injuries, went to the wall, never tired and always feeling alive. That's what I call living....

Back to the work force Smile

@Diane,
How disgusting! Why, there's nothing to 'em!

My swimsuit has lasted me for years, although I've worn a hole in one of the knees. I bought them when Sears & Roebuck still published their catalog. Which itself was useful for other things in those days.

You know the sort I mean.

@FOUND SOUL,
Welcome home, Found Soul. It's a great report and photography. I want to go too now. I'm still looking for a guy with money and a fun sense of humor..........
Still no word on the job. If I don't hear by Monday, I'll call. Dammit, I've been working on this deal for months!

@Debacle,
Now that the Sear's catalog is a thing of the past, would you, perchance, know where I might purchase one of these spiffy bathing costumes, Mr. D?

@Lustig Andrei,
I'd gladly let you have mine, Andy, but like I said, there's a hole in the knee.

I rather fancy the trunks the guy's wearing in the other photo, that has the eyeballs. But I know, what with my collapsed buns, the eyes would be shut. Along with everyone else's. Sad

@Lustig Andrei,
Yes, a bathing 'costume' is the order of the day, preferably one with long arms.

Care for a dip?

@Lola,
While you wait for that job, can you watch eBay for me, see if Wendy Davis's pink sneakers come up for sale? I'd like to put them in a shrine and worship them.
