Yes, eyeball licking is a fad in Japan. Could lead to pink eye, too.

Imagine a cat licking your eyeball ... be like polishing your orbs with a nail file. And I reckon allowing a pig in the eye would bring on a sty.

The wiring is this place needs an overhaul.

My posts are certainly being overhauled by everyone else's.

Perhaps, however, they'll be tomorrow's headlines, rather than at the arse-end of the society page.

Foundy, for your birthday I'm sending you a virtual wine country escapade, redeemable any time, map here, though the map doesn't begin to cover the many good wine areas in California, nor a lot of the newly respected vineyards with "international" type wines. But here, to whet your appetite:

Gadzooks, I love that whole area dearly.

Meantime, I hope you share lots about your splendid travel part of your Two Birthdays celebration, photos galore.

Hmmm. It says here in the Shipping News that Air Canada will be bringing the Calgarian back to NYC in early July.

Good news. Smile

And I bet they'll be fireworks to herald their arrival.

From what I understand, the sparks are already flying.

"Their arrival" No, it's just the one that's coming back for more. Mame (damn her Very Happy ) had enough of the city and reports say now that she and her beloved are headed for far more distant places.

I have often noticed that whenever I have felt an urge to write to somebody in authority to complain, and don't do, it soon transpires that the matter is corrected because there are so many people with less patience and tolerance than myself, who can be relied upon to write in or pester their MP, that it is bootless for me to bother.

If anything gives me such an urge I know millions more share it.

Getting rid of American commentators on our US PGA TV coverage is probably another case in point.

There's no point complaining about the male spectators in shorts. All I can do is avert my eyes as much as possible and grin and bear any close-ups.

I'm a bit upset about the inverted strawberry-coloured pumpkin instead of a flapping flag to mark the position of the hole.

Is it a logo?

@spendius,
Ah, that's a secret, only to be revealed at tomorrow's trophy presentation;
the idea being to piss off as many players as possible when it's announced.

But, as I'm privy to the secret and the queer flag obviously has your knickers knotted, I'll clue you in.

The strawberry is actually a disguised funnel such that a ball penetrating it will proceed down the inside of the stick and into the cup.

I trust you to keep this under your hat, while attending to your knickers.

@Debacle,
Unfortunately Debbie, possibly due to too many counter-jumpers having a finger in the pie, the model depictions of the hole used as visual aids to give the viewer an appreciation of whole hole shows a flag where the actual hole is located.

I spoke too soon earlier and we got a short dose of the American commentator.

"This putt's all about pace" he opined. Not only is a putt not only not all about pace but pace is important in all putts. Such solecisms grate on the nerves and especially when they are expressed in such tones of swinging dick authority as this one was.

@Debacle,
Who are you tipping to win Deb?

I'll take Steve Stricker.

@spendius,
Strickert is always a good wager, as is Kuchar. But I'm liking Senden.

However, Colsaerts may come on. He's a powerful dude. Can handle the tall grass more easily than the rest.

I expect Phil to fade, he want's it too much. Tomorrow's his birthday, but I'm afraid he can't have his cake and the cup, too.

Y'hear? No cupcake, Phil!

@ossobuco,
Fireworks, dancing, aeroplanes, Thai language, wine, maps and countries, what a way to go away ; Though Oss, if it's redeemable any time and one of your favourites and I am passing your way, we'll just have to organise it and go on that tour .....

Have to admit, I'm getting a bit excited now....... I think everything is under control, out of office on the emails and I'm done ..

Most definitely, a Holiday Thread? When I return ... As long as a monkey doesn't pull my hair or undo my bikini top Wink

Thank you heeps Cool appreciated x

Aye, Senden. Looks like he's dropped back a bit, just catching his breath, I expect. He and Stricker may be tied, or Stricker one up on him, I'm not sure. And thus far Phil seems to be hanging in.

Like you implied before, the commentators are pretty useless. The networks always put one of their Suits on the desk with a former player; the one not knowing diddly-squat, thus only able spout statistics, while the other carries on about how each shot should be played and how the guy played it wrong, blah-blah-blah. If the viewers can't tell what's going on they should be watching bowling or outside pitching horseshoes or weeding, hugging the kids. If the networks wanted to provide excellent commentation they'd put Peter Alliss and David Faherty on the desk and send the rest packing.

Same situation with tennis coverage. All that's required is one guy in the box, preferably a present-day Dan Maskell. Send the superannuated, motor-mouth players back to pasture.

Selah.
