@aspvenom,
It comes with a significant cardboard carrier, thank goodness I saved it, but is tre heavy, and then there are all those wire thingies.

Oof. I think I need an iPhone one of these days.

Never mind that I look like I've been pulled through a hedge backwards Mr Washup. Have you got some Alka Seltzer and a jar of bitter marmalade? And a spoon. And turn some of the lights off if you will. The reflections from all the polished chromium knobs is blinding.

I got an iPhone 4 for $.99 and it is convenient when I'm away from home.

@Lola,
Not as convenient as going away from home, intentionally forgetting your phone. It's a freeing feeling when you are free of the responsibility of batting down emails and text messages every five minute or so. I get more time to be introspective without my cursed phone.

@aspvenom,
Introspection is my specialty. I don't find my phone interferes. However, if your phone blocks introspection, it's a good idea to be without it sometimes.

But you end up paying far too much in data fees (ATT) that makes the almost outdated iPhone 4 not so peachy cool.

@farmerman,
Hey fm--I was looking through my library, the American Section, after finishing The Game of Nations, when I spotted a nondescript little volume Gateway To A Nation: The Middle Atlantic States and Their Influence on The Development of the Nation by D.G. Brinton Thompson.

I could not remember having read it before so I took it down. I've only read a few pages but I can tell it is another gem already.

There is a liitle outline map on the dustcover showing New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. It looks a bit like a fat old Buddha type taking a dump.

Anyway--I'll just curl up on the sofa with Lola and maybe read a few things out for her now I have had a wash and brush up in the backroom. Somebody had written her name on the mirror with a soapy finger like this--LOLA and surrounded by lines emanating in all directions like they do in comics to signify a divine illumination. About 8.

@aspvenom,
You can get introspective aspie about being free of the tribulations of your phone.

I once went on a recce mission to the Isle of Islay to see if I might like to retire there when the time came. Everywhere I went I met people who could talk of nothing else but what a wise decision they had made in coming to live there and how they didn't need to lock their cars or their houses. Plus a small number of variations on the same theme.

I gave the idea up.

What have you learned from your introspections?

@spendius,
PS fm--I was quite surprised to find that those 4 states together are not much larger than Britain. I see they are all "blue". Is there no independence movement?
