Farmerman, Well, actually, I didn't know about Jim Nabors or Merv either, for that matter. It is interesting to find these things out after years of our parent's idealization of actors they assumed they knew. Here I am, after my mother's death several years ago, learning that her idea of the man was nothing more than her own fantasy, encouraged as it was by his public behavior and the impression he left. It's a lesson for us all, I think. How much do we really know about our heros? How much do we really know about each other? We're fortunate if we learn about our intimate friends. But it helps to ask and look beyond the surface. If we want to know, that is.
Jim Nabors was a very funny man and talented. That I know.
Wow, I knew about Jim Nabors being gay before I could drive a vehicle, and I just turned 54.
Come on Lola, stop taking this so seriously with the "look beyond the service" and "what difference does it make" It's kinda cliche.
It's all just good natured fun, no disrespect to Nabors. (or to you by the way....just seemed obvious to me this is a pretty light hearted thread.)
