hi ive been with my boyfreind for 7 years we dont live together as he has commitment problems and it works ok i have 4 children from my past im in my 40s hes in his 50s he has never been close to them and never had children not his thing he tells me everyday he loves me i do the same he hasnt lived with someone since the early 90s wont do again not for him my problem is hes moving down west country in couple of months told me years ago but im still waiting i feel stupid sometimes waiting for the worst i see him everyday go on holidays he cooks me dinners go round to each other and ill will all be over soon im gutted why leave me my kids are grown and gone ive no ties and i dont like where i am i know its his choice would you stay am i mad ?thanks

He made it very clear to you that he did not want to settle down. He made it clear that he did not want to be a parent (and, presumably, a stepparent). He furthermore made it clear that he was moving, and he told you this years ago. You are also well aware that he has commitment problems.

Do you, perhaps, require sky writing to tell you that it's over? It is not going to turn out the way you want it and he will not stay. I'm sorry. But you need to start expending your energy on someone who will.

"Why leave me?" . . . .Good question, since you don't have any ties, AND you have invested 7 years in him!!

This guy just didn't want to ask you to go with him or for you to follow him.

I know it hurts, but you have to accept he has told you how it's going to be.

Let him go and see if he misses you.
