Something deplorable is that you don't understand Chinese language at all, JTT.
The gov of mainland China is double-faced.
The gov has been propagating its "great ever humaritarian value" all the time. It touts Mao as the greatest leader of the people all over the world.
During the Great Famine (1958-1962), 45 million Chinese people were starved to death while Mao insisted on the policy of continuing the export of grain and food. And still today he's labelled as 'the great leader of Chinese people" in publications nationwide...

That's not deplorable, Ori, it's simply a fact of life.
