@indianpetstore,
We take our three dogs in twice a month for a bath, not a flea bath, that only kills the fleas that are on them, the minute they go back outside they get fleas again. I just spent $198.00, $66.00 for each dog for their flea medication, that’s a three month supply.

This is a new medication called Triflexis, its for fleas and heart worms and you can only get it through your Vet.

@jcboy,
FWIW, I use Trifexis chewables (just switched). I had been using Advantix II drops for the last 3 yrs. I don't do anything else (no grooming other than brushing ever other day) and it works fine for my 7 yr old Border Collie.

@Ragman,
Our dogs are slobs! They play and wrestle in the backyard and get filthy dirty, and all three are too big for us to bath so we just drop them off twice a month.

Two questions: What flavor is your favorite? And when was the last time YOU had fleas? Surprised

@tsarstepan,
This med has no specified flavor.

I never had fleas; however, I live in a semi-tropical or tropical environment in so. FL, where they're everywhere and so far, we're good.

I've liked the Advantix II a lot. Currently, I'm trying Trifexis chewables on my dog now (2nd month)..and so far it's been good. I've read reports there are some people who have not had success as they've had dogs with adverse reactions.

Like with many meds, it should not be given to young dogs. I'd also be cautious with small dogs (under 5 lbs is not recommended).

@Ragman,
We’ve been having great success with Trifexis as well, so far so good.

You have no choice but to spend the money on flea meds, the fleas are horrible here in Florida.

@jcboy,
Agreed. (we live 40 miles apart) and when I've gone to a field to walk with my dog...when I came back I had to shower both of us and examine myself and the dog for ticks and various instects. It's a jungle here.
